When we heard about America's Potluck, conceived and coordinated by America250 Utah, we knew we had to participate. At its heart, served is really about coming together. From the first Thanksgiving, breaking bread has played a symbolic role in our national identity.
And, on July 5, to celebrate America's 250th birthday, America's Potluck is inviting people from all around the country to host or participate in a potluck in their own local community.
Not only are we happy to honor this milestone national anniversary in its own right, it feels like an important moment in our nation to come together; to remember that what unites us is, in fact, far, far greater than what divides us (that is a hill I will die on); to be reminded of our common humanity; and to recommit to our shared endeavor as Americans. Let us continue the work towards an ever more perfect union.
If any of this resonates, you can host your own potluck in your community. Sign up here or to find more information about the initiative.
And, hey, if you need to get your potato salad or lemonade there with ease and style - we've got you covered.
Cheers to 250 years...and many more.
